Click here for Terms and Conditions Question: What do I need to provide to receive a quote for a custom extrusion? 1.We can use a drawing (printed, CAD, PDF, etc.) including specified tolerances and quantities or a written description including a list of dimensions, color, material, tolerances, and quantities. Very often we work from a prototype of the desired product. Of course, a verbal description works very well. If in doubt, it is best to contact us and let us help you determine what is needed to accurately quote your product. Question: What sizes can Excalibur Extrusions produce in custom profiles? 2. Excalibur extrudes custom plastic extrusion profiles from as small as 1/16" up to 7" in any dimension. Excalibur extrudes custom hollow shapes up to 8" diameter or corner to corner. Question: What types of threads can be produced on machined plastic nipples? 3. The most common thread form is (NPT) National Pipe Thread and is what you will get when you simply order machined plastic pipe nipples. These, as with any of our nipples, are available in the following configurations: (TBE) Threaded Both Ends, (TOE) Threaded One End, Plain End, and Victualic®. (BSP) British Standard Pipe Thread, (BSPT) British Standard Pipe Taper, (NPSM) National Pipe Straight Free Fitting Mechanical Joints, (NPSL) National Pipe Straight Loose Fitting Mechanical Joints, (UNC) Unified Coarse, (UNF) Unified Fine, as well as custom threads are readily available. Question: What type of fabrication & machining can Excalibur Extrusions produce? 4. In addition to threading, Excalibur Extrusions can also provide forming including belling and bending. Additionally we can offer precision machining including chamfering, cutting, and gang drilling. Question: What materials can Excalibur Extrusions work with? 5. Excalibur Extrusions has over three decades of experience working with Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Rigid and Flexible, Polypropylene, High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS), Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), Noryl®, as well as many engineering materials. Question: What color options can Excalibur Extrusions provide for custom extrusions? 6. We currently offer a wide selection of color options, from multiple color houses. We can color match over the phone using a Pantone® Color Formula Guide and we can provide color chips for color matching. We have made custom color matches from plastic parts, painted metal parts, strips of cloth and even magazine adds. In almost every case, if you can bring us a color we can match it. Question: Can we have our company name/ website printed on our custom extrusion? 7. Excalibur has a variety of printers including inkjet, off-set, and direct, we also emboss, and hot stamp. We can print your custom plastic extrusion parts with your logo, size, part number, barcodes, or text (incl. company name, website, etc.). Depending on the type of print we can offer a variety of colors. We can, of course, also offer no print. Question: Can we specify packaging for our custom extrusion? 8. Our customers can specify packaging processes or materials for their custom extrusion. We can also custom design a box, roll, coil or crate to your specifications. Some of our customer's products are best protected by reusable wooden or plastic fold-flat crates. While others are put directly in point of sale packaging. We work with several paper mills to provide the widest possible range of stock and custom packaging. Question: What industries or markets does Excalibur make products for? 9. We make products for the turf, agriculture, home improvement, personal recreation, water treatment, in addition to the custom extrusion markets. Question: What is the availability or lead time for Excalibur products? 10. Stock items are often available for same-day shipment. The lead time for custom products is a function of material availability, part size & complexity, and the creation of any necessary tooling (ex: new part design). |
